This Summer Heat Really Takes its Toll!

Are you feeling a bit sluggish in the summer heat? If your car battery could talk it would probably express the same thing.  In point of fact, extreme summer temperatures can practically destroy it.  Turns out, your car battery can also get “parched” in the summer.  High temperatures will evaporate your battery’s vital liquids and weaken its charge.

Here are a few tips to keep your vehicle’s battery in “fighting shape” –

1.  Try to curtail short trips.
2.  Make sure that you have turned off interior lights.
3.  Keep the posts clean.
4.  Don’t use the radio when the car is shut off.
5.  Park out of direct sunlight.

Sometimes, you may have taken every precaution and your vehicle’s battery still goes bad.  That is why you always keep Jim’s Auto Service in mind if you live in the greater Raleigh area.  Jim and his team will get you and keep you on the roads of Central North Carolina.  Stop in at 3711 Tarheel Drive or call for an appointment at (919) 824-4566.
